Morito Group Human Rights Policy
The Morito Group (hereinafter, “we,” “us,” “our”) supplies a broad array of parts and products throughout the world with a commitment to genuine craftsmanship that will enrich people’s lives as it continues to create new kinds of value for the future.
We believe that creating new value is made possible by the support of all our stakeholders, including shareholders, employees, customers, business partners, and local communities.
Driven by this belief, we have established the Morito Group Human Rights Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) to fulfill our responsibility to respect the human rights of all individuals affected by our business activities.
We will promote efforts to respect human rights in accordance with this Policy.
1Respect for International Human Rights Standards
We understand and respect human rights as set forth in the International Bill of Human Rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as well as the core labor standards outlined in the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, recognizing them as minimum standards that must be observed. We also endorse the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and conduct our business activities in accordance with these principles.
We comply with the laws and regulations of the countries and regions where we operate. If the laws and regulations of a particular country or region conflict with internationally recognized human rights, we will seek ways to respect those internationally recognized human rights to the maximum extent possible.
2Scope of Application
This Policy applies to all officers and employees of the Morito Group. We also expect all of our business partners to take this Policy to heart.
3Governance
We have identified respect for human rights as one of the key priorities in our business. The Sustainability Committee is responsible for formulating and implementing this Policy, establishing an appropriate internal framework, and overseeing compliance with this Policy and related initiatives.
4Human Rights Due Diligence
We are committed to establishing and continuously implementing a human rights due diligence framework to identify adverse human rights impacts and prevent or mitigate them.
5Human Rights Issues Related to Business Activities
- (1) Prohibition of Forced Labor
We do not tolerate forced labor, nor do we permit any form of modern slavery. - (2) Prohibition of Child Labor
We do not employ children who are under the minimum working age, nor do we engage minors in work that would be detrimental to their development. - (3) Prohibition of Discrimination
We prohibit discrimination on any grounds, including race, ethnicity, creed, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, age, place of origin, physical or mental disability, or illness. - (4) Providing a Safe, Hygienic, and Healthy Work Environment
We provide a safe, hygienic, and healthy work environment so that every employee can continue to work with peace of mind.
6Remedy
We will take responsibility for addressing any adverse human rights impacts that we directly cause or contribute to. We will also strive to prevent or mitigate any adverse human rights impacts we contribute to through our business relationships or other activities.
7Grievance Mechanism
We will maintain a grievance mechanism that allows individuals to report any incident where our business activities have caused or contributed to an adverse human rights impact. If we determine that we have caused or contributed to any such impact found through said mechanism, we will take appropriate remedial measures through the proper procedures after conducting a thorough fact-finding investigation.
8Dialogue with Stakeholders
We will draw on external expertise and engage in dialogue and discussions with relevant stakeholders to enhance and improve our efforts to respect human rights.
9Education
- We will conduct appropriate training and awareness-raising activities to promote understanding of and adherence to this Policy.
10Information Disclosure
We will disclose this Policy to the general public after it is approved by the Sustainability Committee and adopted by the Board of Directors. We will report on our initiatives aimed at fulfilling our responsibility to respect human rights and other related efforts through our website and other channels.
